Dr. Marissa Williams

Dr. Marissa Williams, Au.D.

Dr. Marissa Williams, Au.D., has been a board-certified audiologist since 2008. She completed her doctoral degree in Audiology at the University of Texas at Dallas - Callier Center for Communication Disorders, following her undergraduate work in Speech Pathology & Audiology at Western Michigan University. She has a broad range of experience working with patients ranging from newborns through centenarians, performing hearing tests, sedated electrophysiologic evaluations, cochlear implant evaluations and programmings, and hearing aid evaluations and fittings. She also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston for a number of years and has had the joy and opportunity to serve as a missionary and a humanitarian audiologist a number of times in various countries around the world.

Dr. Williams is known for her patient-centered, educational approach to appointments, which is most evident in her passion to teach and explain hearing loss, the testing process, and the importance of timely intervention to restore access to sound to her patients (and friends and neighbors!). After beginning to lose her hearing 10 years ago, she is a great resource of helpful information and tips for people with hearing loss and is an empathetic healthcare provider, understanding the difficulties, frustrations (and joys), and limitations of living with hearing loss.

Married to her husband Daniel, Dr. Williams enjoys her primary role as a wife and mother of 4 young children. Though she has spent her life moving around the country, she has called Houston home since 2009. Living in the Energy Corridor since 2014, the Williams family will typically be found outside, barefoot, playing wiffle ball in the yard, riding scooters in the street, climbing trees, and making sure that all of the neighbors' lawns are equally trampled during their shenanigans.
